What you can do

Everything your neighbourhood needs to stay in touch.

Ask for help, share news, plan get-togethers and reach local businesses — your whole neighbourhood, in one chat.

Your neighbourhood’s community

Every area on Peple has its own community, with groups such as Residents. Join the ones you want, or start your own group.

Chat with neighbours

Message the people who live around you — ask for a recommendation, lend a hand, or just say hello.

Quick group polls

Plan a building clean-up or a festival get-together. Choose whether voters’ names are shown or kept anonymous.

Photos and videos

Share a photo of a lost pet, a notice on the gate, or the leak that needs fixing.

Ask a local business

Tap Message on a business, product or service. The chat shows what you’re asking about, so they know straight away.

You decide who gets through

Messages from people you don’t know wait in Message requests. Accept, decline or block — it’s up to you.

Questions

About community.

Is chat free?

Yes. Messaging on Peple is free. You only need to log in with your mobile number.

Is chat only for buying and selling?

No. Chat is for your whole neighbourhood. Talk to neighbours, join your area’s community groups and plan things together. You can also message local businesses when you need something.

Who can see my phone number?

Not other people in chat. Your number stays hidden unless you are already in each other’s phone contacts. If you call a business, they will see your number as with any phone call.

What can I send?

Text, emoji, photos and videos, polls, and Peple listings and profiles. You can also reply to a message or react to it.

Can I chat with people I already know?

Yes. In the Peple phone app, allow access to your contacts to see who is already on Peple and message them. You can also search for neighbours by name from the Chat tab.

What is a community?

Each neighbourhood on Peple has one community. It holds the groups for that area — like Residents — so you can find and join the ones you want, or start a new group for your street or building.

Someone is bothering me. What do I do?

Open the chat and choose Block or Report. Blocked people can’t message you, and our team reviews every report.
